GEC Week 4 Awards


NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK - LILY MCFARLAND (Baltimore, MD), a Sophomore from West Chester University, was voted GEC Newcomer of the Week on February 1st, 2022. McFarland had her career best scores on all three events that she competed this weekend at WCU’s home opener. Her stellar performances helped The Golden Rams earn a season high 193.125 against Ursinus. Lily finished 1st on balance beam with a 9.8, and 2nd on both the vault and floor with with a 9.725 and 9.75 respectively.

PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK - KATHRYN DORAN (Georgetown, Oakville, Ontario, Canada), a 5th Year Senior from Bridgeport was voted GEC Performance of the Week on February 1st, 2022. After minimal training during the last few weeks due to nagging injuries, Kat nailed her bar routine with a stick to earn an impressive 9.875, receiving a 9.9 from one judge, to win bars at the Purple Knights second meet of the season at Brown.

􏰛􏰋􏰡􏰥GYMNAST OF THE WEEK - SARA KENEFICK (Charlotte, NC), a Sophomore from Penn, was voted GEC Gymnast of the Week on February 1st, 2022. Kenefick competed in the vault lineup for the first time this season, helping lead the Penn vault team to the 2nd highest score in program history with her 9.8. Sara also made her All-Around debut this weekend, winning the title with a 38.975. Kenefick also placed first on floor with a 9.8
