Co-Gymnast of the Week: Sydney Beers (Cornell)

Sydney Beers (Bellmore, NY), a senior from Cornell, has earned Co-Gymnast of the Week honors following an outstanding all-around performance in week two. Sydney scored a 1st place 39.125 all-around, just below her career-high average of 39.135 from last year, and delivered consistent performances across all four apparatuses, helping her to secure the top all-around score. Sydney’s leadership and consistent performance continue to make her an essential pillar of her team, setting a high standard for both her teammates.


Co-Gymnast of the Week: Skye Kerico (Penn)

In a shared honor, Skye Kerico (Tom’s River, NJ), a junior from Penn, has been named Co-Gymnast of the Week following her stellar performance at the #16 Rutgers Quad meet. Skye tied her personal best on the vault with a score of 9.850, securing 1st place and defeating a nationally ranked opponent. She was one of only two gymnasts to finish in the top five in three separate events, underlining her versatility and skill. Skye’s ability to produce top-tier performances on multiple apparatuses makes her an invaluable asset to the team.


Specialist of the Week: Julia Bedell (Brown)

This week’s Specialist of the Week is Julia Bedell (Haverhill, MA) a senior from Brown, who led the Bears on vault and tied for the team lead on floor during the season-opener at Iowa State. Julia’s performance helped set the tone for her team, with her strong and consistent routines in both events. Julia’s contributions on both vault and floor were critical to Brown’s success at the meet, making her a standout performer and key asset to the team. She put up a 9.825 on vault for 3rd place and a 9.75 on floor which tied for 4th. 


Newcomer of the Week: Ellie Kearns (Yale)

Ellie Kearns (Hillsborough, CA), a first-year from Yale has earned Newcomer of the Week honors after a standout debut in her first collegiate meet. Ellie showcased remarkable poise and consistency, going 3-for-3 in her performances, including two lineup spots. Ellie’s impressive debut included a new single bar release she mastered in just the last month, demonstrating her fast learning curve and commitment. Her 9.85 floor performance, in particular, helped Yale achieve a team score of 49.175, the 7th highest floor score in program history.
