Penn Tops Preseason Poll

WEST CHESTER, PENNSYLVANIA (Dec. 16, 2025) — The Gymnastics East Conference announced the results of the 2025 preseason poll on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2025 in anticipation of the 2026 season. For the fifth consecutive year, the University of Pennsylvania Quakers sit atop the poll after finishing the 2025 season tied for 45th nationally with a National Qualifying Score of 195.470 and a season-high score of 196.200. The Quakers are led by head coach Kirsten Becker, with assistants Casey Zacot and Mabry Craddock. Coming in just behind Penn, Yale captures the remaining first place vote for a total of 55 points.
The preseason poll is based on ranking projections given by the head coaches of the eight GEC schools.
The 2025 preseason rankings are as follows:
1. Penn (63 points, 7 first place votes)
2. Yale (55 points, 1 first place vote)
3T. Brown (41 points)
3T. Cornell (41 points)
5. Bridgeport (34 points)
6. William & Mary (24 points)
7. West Chester (22 points)
8. Southern Connecticut (8 points)
Penn will open the 2026 season on the road on January 11th at Cornell with Bridgeport, while Yale also begins the year away on January 11th at Penn State. Brown starts the year with a home quad meet on January 11th with Southern Connecticut. West Chester will be the first GEC team in action on January 9th at Towson. William & Mary opens their year on January 25th at home.
