Gymnast of the Week: Sophia Dewar (Brown)

Senior Sophia Dewar (Chula Vista, Calif.) of Brown University tied her career-high on floor and captured first place in two of her three events to help the Bears post the sixth-highest team score in program history (194.900) against SUNY Cortland. Her performance on bars also contributed to a 48.875 team total on the event, the eighth-best score in program history. Dewar’s consistency and composure across all three events were instrumental for the Bears this week.

Specialist of the Week: Anna Lacey (WCU)

Senior Anna Lacey (Bethlehem, Pa.) of West Chester University continues to shine in her return to competition this season. She delivered another outstanding meet, earning a season-high 9.700 on balance beam and a 9.825 on floor exercise to claim the event title. After being sidelined with an injury for the past two years, Lacey’s return to the lineup has been nothing short of remarkable. Her resilience, leadership, and competitive fire have made an immediate impact, helping lead the Golden Rams to a season-high team score of 193.175.

Newcomer of the Week: Ashley Stafford (Yale)

First-year Ashley Stafford (San Clemente, Calif.) of Yale University turned in a standout performance at NC State, tying for second on vault with a career-high 9.850 and sticking her front handspring font tuck half. Stafford has been a key contributor to Yale’s vault lineup this season and helped the Bulldogs achieve a program-record 48.900 on the event this week.
