Gymnast of the Week: Jordan Barrow (Penn)

Junior Jordan Barrow (Jackson, Tenn.) was the key cog in the Quakers’ Ivy Classic victory on Sunday. Barrow tied for first on vault with a 9.825 and captured the beam title with a career-best 9.900. She also added a 9.775 on bars to round out a strong three-event performance. Her efforts secured Penn’s third-consecutive Ivy Classic championship and extended the Quakers’ undefeated record to 17-0 on the season.


Specialist of the Week: Cami Whitaker (Cornell)

Senior Cami Whitaker (Addison Ill.) has been an absolute rock for the Big Red on vault and floor this season. This weekend, she once again posted the team’s highest score on both events, tying for first on vault with a gorgeous Yurchenko tuck 1½ (9.825) and placing third on floor with a 9.850 to match her personal best. Her efforts helped Cornell achieve its highest team score of the year. This marks Whitaker’s second Specialist of the Week honor this season.


Co-Newcomer of the Week: Annie Bilbe (Yale)

First-year Annie Bilbe (Covington, La.) delivered another standout performance at the Ivy Classic, helping Yale post a program-record team score of 195.525. Competing with poise beyond her years, Bilbe continues to perform like a veteran, impressing with her work ethic, humility and willingness to do anything for her teammates. She earned a 9.750 on vault (T-7) and tied for third on floor with a 9.850. This marks her fourth Newcomer of the Week honor this season.


Co-Newcomer of the Week: Ruth Whaley (Penn)

First year Ruth Whaley (Annapolis, Md.) set the tone for Penn on balance beam at the Ivy Classic, leading off the rotation with a 9.825 to help the Quakers post a meet-best 49.125 on the event. Her score placed fourth overall and ranked second on the team. Whaley also contributed a 9.775 on bars, good for second among the Quakers. Her steady performances played a key role in securing Penn’s third-straight Ivy Classic title for the Penn Quakers.
