Gymnast of the Week: Skye Kerico (Penn)
Penn’s Skye Kerico has been named the Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Gymnast of the Week for the fourth time this season after delivering back-to-back dominant performances. At Towson, she tied her own program record for the highest all-around score with a 39.325, securing first place. She also set a career-high 9.925 on beam, tying for first place and recording the second-best beam score in school history. Kerico added a 9.875 on bars (tied for second) and helped Penn post season-high scores on bars (49.275), beam (49.225), and overall team score (196.200), with the bars total ranking second-best in program history. She carried that momentum into William & Mary, once again winning the all-around title (39.175). She placed first on floor (9.825), first on bars (9.800), and added a 9.800 on beam (4th place). With her outstanding performances, Kerico continues to establish herself as one of the top gymnasts in the conference, playing a key role in Penn’s record-breaking success this season.
Specialist of the Week: Maya Davis (Brown)
Maya Davis of Brown has been named the Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Specialist of the Week for the second week in a row after another stellar performance on Senior Day. Davis helped Brown set a season-high team score on bars (48.775) while winning the individual bars title by tying her career-high 9.850. She continued her dominance on floor, tying for first place with a 9.850, marking the fifth consecutive meet in which she has scored at least a 9.850 on floor. Her efforts helped Brown defeat Bridgeport and surpass the 194-point mark (194.100) for the third straight meet. With her consistent excellence, Davis continues to be a key contributor to Brown’s success this season.
Co-Newcomers of the Week: Manama Fofana (Penn) & EmmaGrace Kelly (WCU)
Manama Fofana of Penn and EmmaGrace Kelly of West Chester have been named Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Co-Newcomers of the Week after standout performances. This marks Fofana’s third time earning the honor and Kelly’s second, as both continue to establish themselves as top competitors in the conference.
Fofana had another exceptional week for Penn, helping the Quakers achieve season-high team totals. At Towson, she scored a 9.800 on beam (tied career-high) and 9.775s on vault and floor, contributing to Penn’s fourth-best team scores in school history on beam (49.225) and overall (196.200). At William & Mary, she won vault (9.850, tying for third-best in program history), placed second on beam (career-high 9.850), and secured second on floor (9.800). Her 9.850 vault score was the highest among all GEC gymnasts this week and the best among freshmen.
Kelly delivered a 4-for-4 performance across a double-meet weekend for West Chester. On Friday, she tied for first on floor (9.800) and placed second on beam (9.700). She followed it up on Sunday with a 9.775 on beam for a second place finish against Division I Towson and Alaska, showcasing her consistency and artistry. With multiple GEC honors to their names, both Fofana and Kelly continue to shine as standout newcomers in the conference.
